Kurt,
Glad you enjoyed the articles.
I live in London, UK. I was born and brought up in this country, but my parents are Indian.
I was actually an Obama supporter after watching some of his videos and speeches, and I got caught into the mindset of "anyone but a republican in 2008″, so I thought I'd watch the GOP debates just for a laugh...That's where I discovered RP, and after doing some research, I had a paradigm shift...I think you're the one that said something like "the strongest paradigm wins", well you've hit the nail squarely on the head there!
The major shift was on economic issues, where I previously thought that the market requires government regulation, and government has a responsibility to provide welfare services (which is the prevailing attitude in this country), but doing some research on Austrian Economics and the free market soon set me straight. I also thought that healthcare and education were rights that we all have, but now I realise, after listening to RP, that those "rights" can only come about by taking away someone else's liberties, mainly through taxes, which feeds into the idea that government doesn't produce anything, it can only take from one and give to another, and create monopolies in the economy which destroys the wealth generation capabilities of a country.
I've always had anti-war and non-interventionist ideas on foreign policy, so RP is a perfect match there. He's the only candidate that understands the causes of (and can significantly reduce the threat of) terrorism.
Anyway, this email's getting long, so I'll stop here!
Regards,
Sumeet
